One with the main trials of Abraham’s life was facing the wrath of God to give up his most precious possession his son. The son doesn’t appear in the Quran and Muslims believe that it will become Ishmael and it’s mentioned as Isaac in the Somebody. In response to this command, Abraham prepared to submit to can of God. In the course of this process, Shaitan (the Devil) was able to tempt Abraham and his family by wanting to discourage them from obeying God’s commands, and Abraham was able to keep Satan from his grasp by throwing pebbles at him. In commemoration of these rejection of Satan stones are thrown towards symbolic pillars by rituals like the Stoning of the Devil during Hajj rites. [16]

When Abraham experimented with cutting his throat on the mountain Arafat, [17] Abraham was stunned to learn that his son was not injured but instead, Abraham found the remains of a ram that was killed. Abraham was successful in passing the test by his willingness to undertake God’s command. [18][19]

This story is known in the form of the Akedah of Judaism (Binding of Isaac) and is found in the Tora 20:20, the very first book of Moses (Genesis Ch. 22). 22. Quran defines the Akedah as follows 22.

100 “O my Lord! Offer me a righteous (son)! “

101 We also gave him the blessing of a young man who is ready to forbear and suffer.

102 After that, when (the son) was at (the age of) (serious) working with him the two of them, he said: “O my son! I see in vision that we offer thee in sacrifice: Now see what is thy see! “ (The son) said: “O my father! Do as thou fine art commanded: thou will find me if Allah so wills a single practicing Patience and Constancy! “

Then when they both of them to submit their wills (to Allah), and the man had placed his forehead on the floor (for offering sacrifice),

Then we called out to him “O Abraham!

85 “Thou hast already happy the vision! “ – thus indeed do We recognize those who act right.

This was clearly a trial-

107 And We ransomed him using a momentous sacrifice:

Then we leave (this blessing) for your pet among generations (to follow) in the future:

It is 109 “Peace and also salutation to Abraham! “

110 Thus indeed do We encourage those who behave right.

112 For he was one of our assumed Servants.

112 We also gave Isaac the message of Isaac who was a prophet one of the Righteous.

– Quran, sura 37 (As-Saaffat), ayat 100-112[22]

Abraham was a man who demonstrated his devotion to God over all other love: the fact that he offered the life of his son or that of the dearest to him as a response to God’s call. Muslims commemorate this ultimate act of sacrifice annually during Eid al-Adha. Although Abraham was prepared to make a great ultimate sacrifice, God ultimately prevents the sacrifice, and also admonishes that any particular person should never give up a human life, especially not in the particular in the name of God.
